Protect East Biloxi From Poor Sewage Treatment

DO YOU FISH, SWIM or BOAT on the Back Bay in Harrison County?

You don’t have to be a sewage expert to know that the East Biloxi Sewage Treatment Plant is not functioning to acceptable standards.  This is apparent to many residents of East Biloxi who live with the stench on a daily basis and find in intolerable when it rains.  The county & state DEQ has done nothing to prevent the release of harmful pollutants such as nitrogen, phosphorous and pharmaceutical chemicals.

The East Biloxi Sewage Plant is currently applying for the renewal of a wastewater treatment permit affecting the Back Bay of Biloxi and Keegan Bayou.  Download this fact sheet and petition by clicking the link below to inform your neighbors and invite them to a Mississippi Dept. of Environmental Quality public hearing in Biloxi on June 5, 2008 to make public comment on this issue.
