Profile

Serving the nation from its capital, AAJC is affiliated with the Asian American Institute of Chicago, Asian Pacific American Legal Center of Southern California in Los Angeles and the Asian Law Caucus in San Francisco. Working closely with its Affiliates, AAJC is committed to increasing community education and participation on public policy and civil rights issues affecting all Asian Pacific Americans.

Through our Community Partners Network Program, we are able to develop relationships with local community-based organizations through which technical assistance on projects ranging from anti-Asian violence to immigration, naturalization and welfare reform are being delivered.

This assistance includes training on working with the media, working with government agencies, building coalitions, monitoring hate crimes, instituting naturalization assistance programs and understanding important new laws.

AAJC is a member of the Leadership Conference on Civil Rights, Americans For A Fair Chance, and the National Council of Asian Pacific Americans.

AAJC continues to serve as a reliable source for the media, and is quoted on a regular basis in the Washington Post, New York Times, Los Angeles Times, Seattle Post Intelligence and San Francisco Chronicle. ABC World News and National Public Radio have also turned to the Consortium on the immigration debate.
