The Mississippi Center for Justice Continues to Respond to Legal Needs on the Mississippi Gulf Coast
On November 29th, the Mississippi Center for Justice and its national affiliate, the Lawyers Committee for Civil Rights Under Law, will conduct a community workshop to address current issues relating to FEMA for Hurricane Katrina survivors.

On November 29th, the Mississippi Center for Justice and its national affiliate, the Lawyers Committee for Civil Rights Under Law, will conduct a community workshop to address current issues relating to FEMA for Hurricane Katrina survivors. The workshop will be held at the Mississippi Center for Justice, 974 Division Street, Biloxi, Mississippi, from 4:00 PM until 7:00 pm. Volunteer attorneys will be present at the workshop to answer participants’ questions through one-on-one consultations.
Attorneys will be available to answer questions on the current state of FEMA rental assistance and FEMA trailers. The attorneys will advise you of your rights and advocate on your behalf. Matters requiring further help will be referred to pro bono attorneys for representation.
Hurricane survivors with FEMA disaster relief-related questions should bring all related paperwork, including identification, letters from FEMA, Social Security information, total household annual income, current address, pre-hurricane address, personal contact information, description of losses as a result of the disaster, lease agreements, and rent receipts.
