More than a decade ago, the BP Drilling Disaster killed 11 rig workers and millions of marine animals when the Deepwater Horizon rig exploded. It devastated local fisheries and compromised the health of people and wildlife alike. Unfortunately, the oil industry continues to harm the Gulf of Mexico's communities and ecosystems.

We'll hear diverse stories from the Gulf of Mexico calling for a swift transition away from fossil fuels.

This conversation comes at a critical time: President Biden has paused the federal oil leasing program, including new leasing in the Gulf. We need to urge the administration to make this pause permanent to protect people, the climate and wildlife.
