Jesmyn Ward will be on the Gulf Park campus on February 28 for her "Black Excellence Celebration: A Journey to Prosperity" presentation. Ward has been hailed as the standout writer of her generation with the novels, Salvage the Bones, Sing, Unburied, and Where the Line Bleeds. She is the first woman and the first African American to win two National Book Awards for Fiction. Following the presentation, a Q&A session with attendees will be held in addition to a book signing.
