The 1st Step in creating a safe, sustainable, and thriving East Biloxi.
On February 22, 2022 Steps Coalition collaborated with the NAACP Biloxi Branch, the East Biloxi Community Collaborative (EBCC), the Gulf Coast Community Design Studio (GCCDS), and the Program for Local Adaptation to Climate Effects: Sea Level Rise (PLACE:SLR) to host the first session of a four-part training series focusing on the redevelopment of East Biloxi. Each of these training sessions, which were designed for community leaders of East Biloxi, are meant to equip leaders to effectively envision and create a safe, sustainable, and thriving East Biloxi. The first training session, which took place at the Hancock Whitney Bank, focused on the Social Determinants of Health (SDoH) as a framework for community development, self-determination, and comprehensive redevelopment planning for East Biloxi.
